The Library at the University of York (not to be confused with York University in Canada, whose students and staff sometimes ring our enquiry desk by mistake) is part of Information Services, a converged service which also includes the IT Services and the Borthwick Institute for Archives. We work both individually and collectively depending on the project. There are just over 110 FTE staff on the library side of things.
This blog was set up not to document everything we do, but to share with other information professionals some of the more creative elements of our services, like our use of UX (User Experience: ethnography and user-centred design) techniques to understand our users.
